Mr. Hanson provides litigation services in state and federal courts, both trial and appellate, as well as arbitration and mediation proceedings. Mr. Hanson has worked on matters including contract disputes, partnership disputes, technology rights, trade secrets, securities disputes, real estate disputes (including sales transactions, mortgage fraud, Truth in Lending, construction matters, CC&Rs, and development disputes), mechanics liens, fraud, RICO, and unfair competition.
Mr. Hanson has provided services on behalf of a broad range of individual and corporate clients, including mom and pop businesses, Merrill Lynch, International Paper, Upper Deck Trading Cards, and California Bank & Trust. Mr. Hanson has also represented the California Energy Resources Scheduling Division of the California Department of Water Resources in various disputes and contract administration matters involving the Department’s portfolio of long-term energy contracts.
In one case of note, Mr. Hanson successfully represented California franchisors in trial court proceedings and on appeal in their dispute with a Texas franchisor. The published opinion is Winter v. Window Fashions Professionals, Inc. (Cal. App. 5th Dist. 2008) 166 Cal.App.4th 943, 83 Cal.Rptr. 3d 89.
Mr. Hanson is a member of the State Bar of California, the Placer County Bar Association, and the Sacramento Bar Association. He is admitted to practice law in all courts of the State of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
