  • More Than Expected!

I found the firm's representation to be more than what I expected. I was always kept in the loop, all my questions were answered (whether or not I asked more than once the same question), and I felt completely supported by the firm staff when going through this (at times) scary ordeal. Thank you again.

Wealthy Is Healthy

The New York Times recently reported that wealthier individuals are not only healthier, but they also have more disability-free years than the poor. A study comprised of both English and Americans reported that wealthy individuals get 8 to nine more healthy years after the age of 50 than poor individuals. The study sought to answer two questions: 1. What role do socioeconomic factors play in how long you live? 2. Do older adults in the United Kingdom live longer than older Americans?

After studying over 25,000 people from both countries, the data was analyzed by how various factors including: education, wealth and social class impact, health and freedom from conditions that could impact an elder’s ability to perform daily living tasks.

This was based on overall wealth, which is not to be confused from income. In the United states the poorest class has $29,000 or less, $29,000 – $180,000 for the middle group, and $180,00 – $980,000 for the wealthiest group.

In both countries, wealthy women tended to live up to 33 disability-free years after the age of 50 which is nine times longer than poor men. Education level and social class did have an impact, but it was nowhere near as significant as overall wealth. The number of disability-free years after the age of 50 was found to be nearly identical in both countries.
