  • Non-judgmental.

You were very open and answered all of my questions. You never made me feel like I was asking a dumb question. I was comfortable with your knowledge of the law. It was hard for me to make this decision to move forward in my life. Everyone was friendly to me and respectful. Non-judgmental. Every question I asked was answered promptly and appropriately. I would recommend you.

  • More Than Expected!

I found the firm's representation to be more than what I expected. I was always kept in the loop, all my questions were answered (whether or not I asked more than once the same question), and I felt completely supported by the firm staff when going through this (at times) scary ordeal. Thank you again.

The Government Shutdown: Furloughed Employees

As the longest federal government shutdown in history continues, federal workers are struggling to make ends meet and keep their families afloat. According to EDD there are approximately 245,000 federal employees living in California alone. EDD has seen a 600% increase in unemployment applications from federal employees since December 29th of 2018.

If you are a federal employee who has been furloughed due to the government shutdown, you can print the following application and mail or fax to EDD to begin your unemployment claim.

Communities Offering “Freebies”

Some companies are using the government shutdown as an opportunity to provide added benefits to federal employees. Some companies are calling them “furlough freebies” or “shutdown specials”. Many wireless communication companies are waiving late fees and providing extensions.

Free Services

Many restaurants, including five-star chef Jose Andres are offering free meals to federal employees. In addition, some movie theaters are offering free movies and concessions to federal workers who show their government ID. You can even get a free three-month subscription with Rosetta Stone.
