  • Non-judgmental.

You were very open and answered all of my questions. You never made me feel like I was asking a dumb question. I was comfortable with your knowledge of the law. It was hard for me to make this decision to move forward in my life. Everyone was friendly to me and respectful. Non-judgmental. Every question I asked was answered promptly and appropriately. I would recommend you.

  • More Than Expected!

I found the firm's representation to be more than what I expected. I was always kept in the loop, all my questions were answered (whether or not I asked more than once the same question), and I felt completely supported by the firm staff when going through this (at times) scary ordeal. Thank you again.

Catfishing: A Billion Dollar Industry

In the last three years, victims in the US and Canada have lost nearly one billion dollars to online scammers posing as love interests. Most victims are women over the age of 50 who are looking for love and an emotional connection.

Catfishing is the process of stealing someone’s online identity or just conjuring up a person out of thin air. The scammer then uses social media or dating sites to form relationships with people they never intend to meet. Many of the scammers pose as widowers or servicemen in the armed forces to immediately gain sympathy or create an illusion of trustworthiness. Shortly after establishing the connection, the scammer begins to establish their financial need due to unpaid medical bills or some other hardship.

Embarrassed to Report

Victims have reported losing tens of thousands of dollars to online scammers. Many fail to report what they have experienced out of embarrassment and are left in financial ruin.

Here are a few warning signs to be aware of:

  1. Their profile was created very recently, and there are no other friends or followers connected.
  2. All profile photos were uploaded within the last day or two and all within a few minutes of each other.
  3. Things get serious way too fast.
  4. They always seem to need financial assistance.
